Product Information Management Consultant
Full-time, 38 hours a week, IHQ Zwaagdijk-Oost
Good and reliable (product) data is crucial. We make intensive use of product data in Marketing & Digital, as we do throughout the Action business chain as a whole. Good product data is key wherever you look – from procurement, throughout the entire logistics chain to the stores, from shelf cards to the tills, on the website and in the app.
A whole host of systems and interfaces play a crucial role in the bussiness process chain when it comes to the availability and richness of product data, but the substantive quality of the data itself is far more important. That's why we set high business knowledge requirements for analysts who work on the design and delivery stages of the chain at Action Technology.
In our BizTech organisation, the Tech team is embedded in the business organisation, and we are one team.
Do you have experience with retail, product master data, PIM/DAM and related systems? Have you already gained valuable experience in supporting product life cycle processes, particularly in sales departments? Are you comfortable working in an agile environment, between business and Tech, solution partners and scrum teams? And are you a team player who can play a key role in defining the scope and requirements, solutions and platform functionalities to meet the business requirements? If that all sounds familiar, we could be a perfect match!
Your daily tasks
As an (internal) Consultant, you will be a point of contact for Digital & Marketing business owners for ideas, issues, requirements and wishes in the broad area of product and asset information management. This will include shpaing data models and business processes and working with domain and solution architects, the product owner and the delivery teams on solution designs, user stories, scoping and (backlog) priorities. You will be involved in developing a new product model, efficiently managing master data (MDM), a product information and asset management process (PIM/DAM) for digital and non-digital marketing, optimising work process support, and much more besides.
You will also be able to put your tech analysis skills to good use when you're involved in making decisions on implementation options in our MDM core system, or defining interfaces and platform adjustments for PIM and DAM issues.
You will coordinate with data management colleagues, the data domain architect, other Technology departments at Action (if required) and potential solution partners to find the right solution, guide implementation processes and support operational requests throughout the chain.
You will also monitor the technical quality when core systems and interfaces are operational. You love nothing more than seeing systems up and running, but you know who to turn to if there's a problem.
You won't be doing all of this on your own, of course, as you'll be part of Tech in the Digital & Marketing team, with close links to (Product) Data Management colleagues in other departments.
At Action, you will find a positive working atmosphere with an engaged, cost-conscious, customer-focused and culturally diverse team. We enjoy working together and have an important company philosophy: simplicity in everything we do. Our Technology department works with specialist teams for Enterprise Architecture, IT Project & Portfolio Management, Development & Operations and BizTech teams, and your BizTech Digital & Marketing team is one of them.
BizTech Digital & Marketing has several scrum teams, with a total of more than 50 professionals working on platforms to deliver the best customer experience and make the business processes even better and more efficient on a daily basis. In the Product Data chain, everything starts in the Commercial and Master Data teams, with close links to Digital & Marketing, but a larger number of stakeholders in the chain.

How we contribute to society
If you only know Action from the stores, a new world will open up for you when you join us. As an example, we're working hard behind the scenes to make a positive impact on society and the environment. Did you know, for example, that we sponsor more than 1,737 children worldwide who are growing up in an SOS Children's Village? Or that our team reflects the diversity of our customers, representing 124 nationalities? Or that 70% of our wood products and 86% of our cotton already comes from sustainable sources? Or that we only use energy-efficient LED lighting in more than half of our stores? Yes, that's Action, too. If you're curious about what other initiatives we're taking, join our team and see for yourself.
We're proud to be an inclusive employer, and we warmly invite anyone who sees themselves in the vacancy to apply. So, take action and submit an application now!
Your recruiter, Robin Overweel, will be your permanent point of contact throughout this process and will be available to answer any questions you may have.
