What makes customers pick up products from the shelves and proceed to purchase them?  Next to the actual product and price,  it’s the packaging that draws their attention. As an artwork coordinator at Action, you will be responsible for managing the creation of packaging artwork for hundreds of products a year. This is your daily action


You will be responsible for the simultaneous coordination of dozens of packaging artworks, managing all the different stages of these projects. That means having discussions with our buyers, product technologists and manufacturers. You’ll also be visiting stores, benchmarking our packaging against the competition’s. Based on the input you receive, inspiration from the market and your own creative ideas, you will brief our external design agencies. In addition, you will evaluate the artwork proposals, coordinate the internal feedback sessions, and have the feedback processed into final designs. Having received approval from the internal stakeholders, you will check the colour proofs and give the final go.


You will be coordinating artwork of our private labels and white label products. And as our products are sold in over ten countries, it will be your responsibility that the artworks are suitable for all our markets. Ensuring that the artworks meet applicable standards, including safety warnings, recycling icons and translations in all the relevant languages, is also part of your role. 

Your homebase is our international team of six driven and fun colleagues at our headquarters in Zwaagdijk. We all value the importance of teamwork. You thrive on working in an energetic team, achieving the best possible results while working under tight deadlines. And you enjoy connecting with the people you work with. Harnessing your communication skills, you inspire and convince your internal and external stakeholders, and align different views by thinking in solutions. As you’ll be alternating between projects, you know how to prioritise and focus. 

In addition you have:

  • A bachelor’s degree or graduate-level ability in a marketing-related field
  • Demonstrable experience of artwork coordination or packaging design, preferably in a retail environment
  • Experience of working with or managing external design agencies
  • A good command of written and spoken English, as you’ll be working with international colleagues at our headquarters in Zwaagdijk-Oost.
