The Capacity Planning Analyst is part of the Supply Chain Planning department and reports directly to the Manager Capacity Planning. The Capacity Planning function is a vital part of the Action Supply Chain Planning team that allows Action to plan and forecast the performance of our entire Supply Chain network 

The main purpose of the job is to deliver the weekly capacity planning forecasts, analyze & report the results of the forecasts, and continuously improve the forecast, either through incremental internal improvements, or unlocking external data sources that allow for significant forecast improvements. As Action is a fast-growing company and this is a relatively new function at Action, the Capacity Planning analyst will also play a role in developing and improving the way of working across the Action Supply Chain, including the rollout of IT projects.

Daily Activities

Gather weekly inputs from across the organization, run the model and align and communicate the results with key stakeholders 
Execute the weekly forecasting process: inbound, outbound, DC operations and DC materials, creating both short-term and long-term forecasts across all DCs 
Analyze weekly forecast deviations, overall and for each individual DC, across all processes, trying to identify the root causes of problems and underlying issues causing discrepancies 
Extrapolate that data & analysis into key factors that impact the forecast, and improve the model based on that analysis to improve accuracy 
Understand long-term supply chain dynamics and optimize forecast 
Unlocking new (external) data sources to improve forecast 
Provide weekly reporting to management and perform occasional deep dive analyses as required.

Who are you?

You are a data-driven person and a strong analytical problem solver. You are very organized able to structure activities and projects and stick to agreements within deadlines and according to guidelines. Additionally, you have a high level of detail/ number cruncher and you are service-minded. You possess strong communication / interpersonal skills and demonstrate a high level of pragmatism.

Furthermore you have:

  • Bachelor degree in Business, Analytics, or other relevant area; 
  • Track record in similar analytical roles; 
  • 3/4 years of relevant working experience as an analyst, preferably in a supply chain (planning) function, and preferably in a retail environment;
  • Business level English; Basic level Dutch.
