Commercial Business Analyst

Full-time, 32-38 hours a week

As a Business Analyst, you perform data analyses for our commercial departments so that they can set their strategies. Your reports will also be used to monitor the profitability of our range and support choices for assortment compositions.   

These are your daily actions

As a Business Analyst, you will be part of the Commercial Control department and report to your manager. The work is aimed at improving the sales and profitability of our products. You translate your analyses into concrete proposals for improvement of the business operations. 

The majority of the work consists of analysing both internal and external information. This allows our buyers to substantiate their choices. You will analyse the effect of promotions and the impact of assortment changes. Compiling and analysing structural reports is also an important part of your work.

Because you are part of the commercial team rather than an analysts department, it is important that you have a commercial mindset. 

This is your team

You are part of the Commercial Control team. You will work together with the Commerce departments, which are Buying, Commercial Operations, Commercial Development and Commercial Planning. 

Buying determines which articles are available in stores and when, and negotiates with the suppliers about these articles. Commercial Operations ensures that our buying activities and all the data in our systems are processed correctly. Commercial Development monitors the store format and looks at how the products in our stores best find their way to the customer. It considers the store format and layout, the shelf layout and the articles in promotion and it monitors our price proposition compared to the competition. Commercial Planning helps the Buying department to plan the assortment and inventory. In short, there are plenty of opportunities to take advantage of the opportunities offered by a commercial winner in the dynamic retail world.

This is what you provide

You are great with figures, and you are commercially minded. As a Business Analyst, you are analytical, proactive, accurate and communicative. You have the ability to gain insights from data and then translate these into a message for our commercial departments. You are ambitious and want to develop further within our organisation. 


  • At least higher professional education level of working and thinking (HBO in the Netherlands), preferably in a business management analytical field
  • 1-4 years of work experience
  • Experience in processing and analysing large amounts of data
  • Extensive knowledge of Excel is a required
  • Good verbal and written command of Dutch and English
  • Knowledge of SAP & Qlickview or another BI tool is an advantage
