(32-38 hours per week, located in Zwaagdijk-Oost) In the role as Communications Specialist you develop, plan and execute the internal and external communication activities, all focused on building and enhancing Action’s reputation.
What are the responsibilities
The communications team at the International HQ is responsible for the development of the company’s internal and external communication strategy. The department coordinates all media activities and internal communications, internal branding and events. The team develops and updates (standardized) company communications materials.
The focus in this role will be on reputation and stakeholder management including communication on social responsibility and sustainability.
As a Communications Specialist you
Will advise, on request or at own initiative, (senior) management, other departments and the Action stores on operational and strategic communications issues.
Will be challenged to create communication plans and activities in line with the overall communication strategy.
Ensure and oversee the execution of the plans, and the realisation of the objectives.
Will manage external agencies and other (international) suppliers. You will respond to media inquiries, but also initiate media attention, develop press statements, press events, prepare interviews and Q&A’s and guide Action representatives in media interviews.
Support and advise colleagues with regards to communication and write content for internal and external tools e.g. speeches, newsletters, websites, magazines.
The communication department is growing , which means there is always room to improve or redesign the communication processes.

A Bachelor’s or University Degree
A minimum of 8-10 years of relevant (international) working experience in a broad communication position within a similar working environment
Extensive experience in media relations and external communication, preferably in the field of social responsibility
Strategic thinking capabilities, combined with an eye for detail.
Excellent comprehension of the English language, both oral and written
Open to other European languages and cultures
