This is your daily action
As Digital Marketing & Merchandising Manager you are responsible for developing and overseeing the online marketing & merchandising strategy to drive store sales by facilitating omnichannel customer journeys and help to grow the success of our E-commerce pilot. You have a vision on merchandising and knowledge of using customer data to embed a data driven way of working.You generate high quality traffic to our website Action.com and our app through our online channels such as social media, display, video. SEA and possibly SEO. Your goal is to optimize the conversion (web-to-physical store transition) of our digital touchpoints by targeting the right customers and displaying the optimal content. In order to do so, you will coordinate the end-to-end process of campaign creation and optimization on all digital touchpoints. This also includes working together with our partners like Wavemaker and Facebook. You are part of the Digital MT and determine the course of the Digital department together with the other MT members. You will manage a team of 8 team members and both guide and structure them in the transition whilst overseeing the team budget. Next to that you will also work closely together with other teams within Digital content, CX&I and Digital IT.

Our Digital department is responsible for all digital customer communication from Action. The Digital Marketing & Merchandising team develops paid advertising, videos, social media, the merchandising on action.com and the Action app. The Content team is responsible for producing all the images and texts in our marketing communications. The Customer Experience & Insights team takes care of web development, analytics, SEO and CRO. And Digital IT is responsible for Action's backend, architecture and online platforms. This is you
As a Digital Marketing & Merchandising Manager at Action you enjoy people management! You have a proactive approach, are result oriented and have a commercial mindset in which the customer comes first. You are a natural leader with excellent communication skills . You execute with pace and urgency and a strong understanding of the challenges within a fast-moving Action business
Besides that you also have:
- A completed bachelor's or master's degree in Economics, Business or Marketing
- 5-8 years of work experience in a digital marketing or ecommerce environment
- At least 2+ years of management experience and guiding a team in transition
- Commercial and data-driven mindset with a can-do and pragmatic mentality
- Excellent knowledge on the latest online marketing and merchandising trends
- Agile way of working, able & willing to constantly adapt to changing realities
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent command of Dutch and English (both oral and written)
