The Manager DC Applications is part of the IT department, reports directly to the Manager Core IT and leads the DC Applications team which is responsible for the applications and infrastructure in all warehouses or Action Europewide (currently 9 and growing).  
You will be leading a team of 15 fte helping them and the business, creating better processes and structures, building the team further, contributing in Action’s growth and expansion plans, participating in new projects for Supply chain IT, and organizing the team and the work in good collaboration with many stake holders and suppliers.

Daily Activities

The manager DC Applications has overall responsibility to fully support the operations and expansion process for warehouses, deliver the business applications and infrastructure necessary to operate these warehouse according to the blue print, continuously improve the blue print and adjust where necessary and manages the day to day operation of such warehouses. 
Leading the DC Applications team within IT the Manager DC Applications has a responsibility for ensure the “fit-for-purpose” of DC Applications and Infrastructure availability and addressing all applicable concerns and key-factors of its stakeholders, in line with the IT strategy for new warehouses and operations of existing ones. Within the domain, the Manager DC Applications translates the strategy into tactical aspects and makes sure that these align with operational agreements. The manager DC Applications ensures that projects are properly staffed and supported, and ensures a smooth transition of these projects to the team for daily operational support and continuous optimization and development. 

Who are you

Professional and intellectual abilities at bachelor level with a minimum of 10 years of experience in similar roles. You are self-confident and show leadership by motivating application specialists and business process owners. Strong communication skills on all business levels. Throughout your work you are organized, sticking to agreed deadlines and guidelines is no problem for you. You are result-driven and demonstrate a high level of pragmatism. You enjoy being a people manager. 

Furthermore you have:

  • Master’s degree 
  • Prince II foundation certified  
  • Broad experience with and knowledge of SAP is essential for success 
  • 10+ years’ experience in IT similar role in Logistics
  • Excellent command of English & Dutch (knowledge of French/German is a plus)
