This is an exciting leading position at our international headquarters. If you are a senior expert with excellent people management skills, you can be the one to join our international team. At Action you will be key responsible for the area of Compliance and Regulatory affairs joining efforts with the Action quality, product technology, buying team and other related areas of the business. A senior role linking together a combined and collaborative approach to compliance of Buying, Compliance and Product Technology team, country of retail, sourcing partners and supply base to ensure Action complies to mandatory requirements regardless of sourcing route.

This is your daily action:

The Quality and Sustainability department is responsible for product quality performance, product specification, product compliance, Action Social Responsibility and sustainable sourcing ensuring that product performs to Actions standards and its country of operations legal legislation.  As a Manager EU Compliance & Regulation you will report into the Head of Product Quality & Sustainability and will collaborate with technical manager and product technologist on a daily basis.

Processes & Procedures: Lead compliance processes and procedures to ensure adherence to European Union and country specific legislation at business, category, commercial level. Code 99 ownership, governance and ongoing improvement. 
Professional Development: Ensure knowledge and awareness information flow into the business. Exchange knowledge with others and translate knowledge in smart proposals and ways of working. Set up the in-market team of Regulatory Affairs Managers and create ways of working and clear governance structure for the Compliance & Regulatory Affairs team. 
Quality & Control: Work in collaboration with product technologists, buyers, country offices, sourcing agents and suppliers. Lead Action authority control cases ensuring that each case is effectively handled and learnings are implemented for ongoing business and product improvements. 
Systems & Reporting: Deliver clear Product Specification Sheets (PSS) depending on the product group, specifically labelling guidelines, warnings and mandatory legislation compliance. Review weekly compliance, country and authority KPI’s and customer feedback creating CAP’s or minimum requirements as necessary to all stakeholders (buying, suppliers, authorities) and keep them up to date.

Commerce consists of the Commercial Operations and Commercial Development departments. Commercial Operations ensures that our buying activities are processed properly, and all data is accurately fed into our systems. These activities are vital in managing our operations, since our logistic, digital and marketing activities depend on it. Commercial Development safeguards our store format and is focused on optimising the way in which we get the customer to find our products in our stores. This involves analysing the format and layout of our stores, shelf layout, determining what items are promoted as well as monitoring the competitiveness of our pricing. This is you
  • Commitment and history of putting the customer (external & internal) first. 
  • Excellent communication skills within technical function, buying, supply base and global offices and ability to work as a team player showing respect, support and discipline.  
  • Able to analyze data (KPI’s, customer feedback, sales) to shape future strategy. 
  • Experience in briefing and specifying requirements for sourced product, working with product technologists and buying to create and/or guide clear specification packs. 
  • Ability to work across multiple sourcing models (import, private label, direct) and cultures. 
  • Able to manage forward thinking for newness and project delivery. 
  • Educational level at Academic degree to relevant product/legal/ISO level. 
  • Has a minimum of 10 years’ experience in retail/manufacturing Product/Compliance/Legislation role. Knowledgeable in the field of safety & legislation, risk analysis and prevention. 
  • Computer literate, MS Office, PLM experience. 
  • Fluent in Dutch and English is essential. French and/or German would be advantageous. 
  • People management history with ability to manage remote and culturally diverse teams. 
What we offer
  • 1 year contract with the possibility to extend into indefinite. Full time basis 38 hours.
  • Annual bonusses between 15% - 30% / Annual bonusses on personal and/or business objectives.
