The quality of our products is important to us. Each Action store receives over 6000 different kind of products, from which we have to ensure the correct quality and sustainability attributes. As an Technical Assistant you’ll support our Product Technologists team.

This is your daily Action

Action is one of the most successful non-food retailers in Europe. With over 1600 stores with each more than 6000 products you can imagine the impact we have on the environment and the social responsibility that we have. As an Technical Assistant you’ll be part of the Product Quality and Sustainability team. You’ll support the technical team in delivering Action products perform to all aspects of the quality and the sustainability strategy. 
You manage the user trial for which you make sure that a sellected group of colleagues test Action products on a weekly basis. Next to that you ensure that the results of the user trail are presented in a report and that next steps are taken accordingly. Creating a benchmark is also part of your job, this includes comparing Action-products to the products of competitors. Together with the Product Techonologist you check what improvements can be made or what needs more promotion. You’ll collaborate a lot with other departments, such as buying, customer service and legal, and suppliers. On a weekly basis you report to your colleagues about the quality of Action products and you translate documents from Dutch to English.

Meet your team

Our department consists of the following units: Buying, Direct Sourcing, Commercial Planning and Quality. We are continuously scouring the market for new items to surprise our customers, negotiate with suppliers, analyze revenues to find out what is selling and what is not, and create promotions such as weekly or seasonal discounts. We visit our stores (and those of our competitors;) on a regular basis to maintain a feel for what is going on. We maintain close collaboration with the Supply Chain, Marketing and Legal departments. This is you

Putting our customer first is important to you. With cost consciousness and high level of attention for detail you’ll deliver true value to the business and customer. Your strong communication skills allow you to collect reliable data and collaborate with others. Multitasking comes easy to you and you like working in an environment with tight deadlines. 

⦁    MBO degree, preferably in a relevant field;
⦁    Good computer skills, such as MS Office or PLM;
⦁    Fluent in English and Dutch.
