International Payroll Expert

32 to 38 hours per week 

You are part of a large HR team within Payroll unit and you share your expertise across all the 10 markets where Action is present including the Headquarters. The whole payroll cross-regional team relies on you. As a payroll expert, you and your team process the payroll and pension administration for up to 70,000 Action employees. But that's not all. From your base in Noord-Holland, you will focus on setting up international payroll processing including the main large-scale project of insourcing payroll flows. This is a great challenge, as Action is continuing to grow and expand on the international market. 

This is your daily action

The Payroll Expert reports into the Manager International Payroll and Support. From monitoring payroll output to answering questions from our colleagues and stakeholders, you do it all. As a wider scope of the role you perform various complex payroll administrations, which include processing, checking payroll, developing reports by researching and gathering information, maintaining payroll records, processing financial information for accounting purposes and information used in audits and ensuring timely, effective and accurate payroll administration. You also fulfil responsibilities at international level, because you put in practice your expertise in setting up and processing our international payroll administration. You work with our time registration software and the SAP Employee Central Payroll system. What's more, you'll help to optimize these systems and our payroll processes.

Compensation & Benefits is responsible for everything related to salary, bonuses, lease car and other employment conditions. People development ensures that all our employees are given opportunities to develop and grow. HR Projects is developing various projects to make our HR department even more valuable within Action. Our Shared Service Center serves our Country Offices, for example with payrolling. Finally, each support department has its own HR advisor who looks at the throughput and outflow of employees and is the connecting link between the department and our overarching HR team. This is you

You have proven experience with establishing, implementation and maintenance of appropriate internal payroll controls, operating processes, policies and procedures. To act as an advisor you can critically review and analyze payroll procedures and provide expertise for payroll insourcing program across countries. You help anticipate legislation amendments regarding taxation, social security, insurances, and closely collaborate with payroll coordinators, business analysts and other stakeholders involved. As a payroll professional you naturally pragmatic and have an eye for details while executing the plan and keeping up with the deadlines. Your energy is constantly nurtured by the dynamics of payroll processes and contribution to the team’s success. 

You also have the following:

  • practical degree in salary administration (PDL) and/or a professional qualification in payroll services (VPS).
  • at least 5 years' experience in a similar role.
  • expertise in Payroll and HR systems (e.g. SAP, Kronos, ADP, SD Worx, etc) 
  • knowledge of Dutch tax, social security and payroll processes.
  • advanced Excel skills
  • advanced proficiency in verbal and written English.
