As a junior VAT Compliance Specialist within the Group Tax department, you help the Senior VAT Compliance Specialist prepare and submit VAT returns for all entities in the different countries. Do you have an affinity with VAT compliance and do you want to further develop yourself as a specialist, then we are looking for you!

Daily Activities

You will be part of Group Tax within Action, where you are responsible together with the Senior VAT Compliance Specialist for all VAT compliance obligations in the 10 countries where Action is currently active.

One of your main tasks is to prepare and submit monthly VAT returns for all Action VAT registrations (currently 18, rising to 20 in approx. 2 years). You can do this by running various reports from SAP, and processing them in the VAT declaration. You will also submit the periodical Intrastat and ICP declarations. To ensure that you can perform your work in the best possible way, you maintain regular contact with the financial departments within our Financial Shared Service Center. This way, you ensure that you follow the VAT flow in the various administrative processes and improve where necessary.

In addition to all returns, you also assist with handling VAT audits, drafting notifications or letters of appeal to VAT assessments, drafting response letters for questionnaires sent by the tax authorities, and you contribute to the tax control framework.

Who are you

As a Junior VAT Compliance Specialist you are a proactive, flexible team player with strong analytical skills. You know how things work in an organization, you are used to working with deadlines and you have a problem-solving way of thinking. Along all of this, you have good communication skills and a great sense of responsibility.


  • A financial bachelor's degree in accounting, fiscal economics / business administration law;
  • You have about 1 to 3 years of work experience;
  • Good knowledge of Excel, experience with SAP is an advantage;
  • Good knowledge of the English language in speech and writing, other European languages are an advantage;
  • Affinity with taxes.
