At Action, we offer you the chance to be part of our energetic Digital team and play a key role in our digital transformation.

Your daily tasks

Action was crowned Retailer of the Year in 2018. We received the award thanks to the revolutionary way in which we expand and continue to focus on our customers. As an SEO Specialist, you will be responsible for the strategy, communication and creation of a variety of deliverables, including keyword strategies and website audits. You will launch and keep track of technical and content improvements to our digital channels in order to optimise our SERP visibility.

You will focus on the following tasks and responsibilities:

  • Establishing scalable technical SEO as part of a greater understanding of the digital marketing strategy. Together with development, you will identify problems and opportunities, with a focus on crawlability, site architecture and site content
  • Briefing and mentoring the Digital Assets & Content team in writing copy that maximises searchability and the best responses to search intent
  • Writing advisory reports on content, technology and link building to support SEO targets
  • Focusing on the different countries and responding to local differences between cultures and countries
  • Creating dashboards and regular reporting for management
  • Coordinating SEO consultancy resources and activities and ensuring good collaboration
  • Carrying out end-to-end SEO testing and validation for SEO-related tickets
  • Continuously developing new ideas for SEO test cases and running such tests
  • Staying up to date with current industry practices, news and algorithm updates

In this role, you will also be responsible for building, training and mentoring the SEO team in the future and will work closely with the SEA specialists. You will report to the performance lead and be a key team member in the Digital Transition of Action. The role will be based in our international headquarters in Zwaagdijk and our agencies in Amsterdam.

What you offer

You are able to take a customer- and result-oriented approach to solutions and demonstrate high-level analytical skills. You are confident working in multidisciplinary teams and have strong verbal and written communication skills.
You also have the following:

  • A Bachelor's degree combined with at least three years' experience as a (technical) SEO specialist at an international omnichannel company. Experience in retail is preferable
  • Experience with Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Google Business Profile, SEO keyword research tools (such as MOZ, Majestic and Ahrefs) and a variety of content management systems
  • Experience in agile working (scrum)
  • In-depth knowledge of industry trends and ranking factors as well as hands-on experience in running integrated SEO programs with proven success
  • Excellent knowledge of Dutch and English
