Imagine... You walk through an Action store beaming with pride because you designed its layout. As a Store Drawer at Action, you always seek to find the most logical layout. You will also focus on walking routes around stores, space, layouts, and commercial and process-based interests from our international headquarters in Noord-Holland. This all comes together to create a highly varied job.

This is your daily action
Your goal is to ensure an optimal and standard arrangement of product groups in both new and existing stores. You will look at the arrangements from a commercial and process-based perspective and incorporate your ideas into blueprints. You will then draw up these blueprints and the associated documents and maintain them in a database.

In addition, you will also provide support for commercial projects. This includes coordinating the development of pilot designs and handling their roll-out on a national level while taking existing layouts and guidelines into consideration. You will join forces with your colleagues from the Marketing, Visual Merchandise and Store Design departments as well as the Expansion team. You will also communicate with employees in our stores during your monthly visits, so you'll easily get to know a lot of people in no time.

Meet your team

Store Format keeps track of store layouts and assesses how products best find their way into customers' shopping trolleys, taking into account the design, store layout and shelf layout. 

As a draughtsperson in the Blueprint team, you will be part of the Format team within the Marketing area. We work closely with Real Estate, Store Operations and Visual Merchandise to create the best possible stores on an international level. Our biggest challenge is ensuring we have one brand and one design across more than 2,000 stores in 10 different countries and online. Everyone may know us in the Netherlands, but how will we conquer the Spanish market, for example?

This is you

You are both customer-focused and customer-oriented. You strive to deliver the best quality for internal and external customers while keeping an eye on any associated costs and our policy. You will also put forward proposals to help staff work more efficiently and effectively. You are able to work well together with others and have a proactive nature. Finally, working to tight deadlines without compromising on quality is in your DNA. 

You also have the following:

  • At least a secondary vocational education (MBO), preferably in the field of retail, retail management or commercial economy
  • At least two years' work experience in retail
  • Knowledge of store layouts and shelf plans, or are keen to learn more in this area
  • A good knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
  • Knowing how to use floor or shelf planning software (such as JDA or Nielsen) would be an asset
  • Fluent in English (both written and spoken)
