The Fleet Manager Transport is responsible for managing a fleet size of approximately 600 assets. The Fleet Manager Transport is in charge for mapping and controlling the costs of our material (TCO), making sure it can be deployed (technical), and ensuring that the material is "top fit" and retains its value. In addition, the Fleet Manager Transport must take care of and follow up clear damage procedures, reduce the damage costs, correct assessment of the damage and roll out a damage prevention plan. The Fleet Manager Transport must also check all R&O invoices and monitor agreements made and report on this. He/ she makes proposals for improvement in order to increase employability and reduce costs.

Daily Activities

You will be responsible for mapping and controlling diesel costs, refuelling behaviour, diesel consumption and overall driver performance, based on reports. You will manage local dispatches and Logistics Service Providers / Transport Service Providers with regard to the follow-up of the Repair and Maintenance agreements. You will develop and implement clear fleet management processes captured in a fleet management policy and you will be responsible for preventing damage. Additionally, you will monitor the Repair and Maintenance budgets and the TCO costs. You will work together with the Transport Manager Europe, ensuring that the organization is familiar with the role of Fleet Manager, and you will have frequent meetings with TSP to follow up on trailer utilization and damage reports.

You are structured and therefore able to finalize activities and projects on time and within budget, in line with the agreed processes. You are able to work effectively and efficiently, under time pressure and you work well with colleagues to achieve common goals. You make proposals and come up with initiatives to work more efficiently and effectively to reduce complexity and improve processes and you have a pragmatic approach.

Furthermore you have:

  • Bachelor degree
  • Transport experience and at least 4 years of work experience in a transport related organization. Experience in a similar role is an advantage
  • Strong analytical capabilities
  • Fluent in English and Dutch. Knowledge of the French and German language is an advantage
  • Experience with fleet management related systems is an advantage
