The Supply Chain Inbound department takes care of all the logistics between suppliers and warehouses in Asia and Europe. This department is responsible for the Direct Import flow between Asia and Europe and is also developing a multi-layer network for Action in Europe and Asia with Hubs and Crossdocks.
The department focuses on an excellent execution by optimizing and developing the processes at supply chain import, the Hub and Crossdock and in the network as a whole.
The inbound container planner is reporting to the Operational Manager Ocean & Freight (Ops Mngr O&F). The inbound container planner regulates and handles a number of transport flows needed to get one container in the right place, on the right time with the right costs.
The inbound container planner is responsible to create and maintain an efficient flow of (Direct Import) containers from the Far East to Hubs and DC’s. Monitor on time delivery to support healthy stock levels and high availability at the lowest costs. Pro-active communication with freight forwarders, carriers, DC’s, Hubs and Supply Chain Planning to ensure a stable planning.
You will be responsible for monitoring on a daily basis the on time delivery of Direct Import containers against lowest cost possible, and you will follow up on delivery issues on a daily basis.
You will also follow up the Origin process to ensure on-time booking, on-time production and on time departure and you will be in contact with a sourcing agent if escalation is required. Additionally, you will instruct LSP’s (freight forwarders) about shipment planning, means of transportation, deadlines and other required handlings. You will be responsible for exception management for all milestones to minimize impact on required delivery date. Moreover, you will maintain central container flow registration in Excel, SAP and Import Control Tower for all critical milestones in Origin and Destination process. You will monitor and maintain KPI's on a daily basis. You will safeguard on-time handover of documentation for custom clearing purposes, and you will check and approve invoicing of all Direct Import LSP’s. You will inform Supply Chain Planning, Capacity, DC’s and Hubs about the short and midterm volumes and requirements to ensure correct inbound capacity.
You will be responsible for informing Stockplanning about expected delivery issues, empty stock or oversupply. Additionally, you will create proposals to adjust the container planning to anticipate changing demand or to balance out stock levels, and you will support creation of future shipping plans by maintaining a central administration of average lead times of all import legs.
You are very organized, able to structure activities, stick to agreements within deadlines and according to guidelines. You work efficiently and effectively, also when under time pressure. You have strong communication skills (communication with internal and external stakeholders). You are able to separate essentials from side issues, and you work according agreed processes and guidelines. You are eager to learn from colleagues to get a broad understanding of the processes and procedures, and you have good numerical skills.
Furthermore you have:
- Minimum Bachelor degree
- 3 years relevant work experience
- English in speaking and writing
- Affinity with Supply Chain, preferable work experience within Supply Chain
- Affinity with Excel
- Language skills: Business level English
