Action has become a big player in the retail world and we have expanded to many new countries in the last years. The IT landscape is key for the development of all areas of the business. The Procurement Department is a necessary interlocutor both internally and externally in achieving the best deals and company successes whilst bringing the company to a new and better way of working.

We are hiring a Procurement Manager in the IT domain to support the needs of the IT department. The chosen candidate will join our Procurement team, under the CFO domain which consists of 7 international colleagues that report to the Head of Procurement. We are looking for an experienced professional with at least 10 years background in a similar level role;

This is your daily action

As an IT Procurement Manager, we expect that you participate in creating the category strategy, challenging internal stakeholders and suppliers whilst leading the market research effort. Additionally you analyse the RFP results, perform negotiations with suppliers and wrap up the master agreements. We want to create mid- and long term collaborations, win-win deals and great success stories for the IT landscape. You are responsible for complementing the roles of user and IT specialists and taking on the procurement responsibility for acquiring software and hardware services. In cooperation with the IT teams you will take care of your part in the sourcing process for defined projects that lead to competitive agreements, implementation and measuring of supplier performance.
Besides this, you will be part of european projects while supporting innovation and professionalization of the department with focus on tools and process improvements to shape a clear roadmap for your area of responsibility.

Meet your team

Our Finance Department currently consists of around 70 specialists in various roles. Our Financial Shared Service Centre is responsible for all financial affairs of our international organisation. Our Treasury team manages all our cash flows and our Fiscal team takes care of anything tax related. Business Controlling supports the business by providing financial advice with respect to our store operations, commercial control, supply chain and financial control. We provide important management information as well as challenge the business with our analyses to further our process optimisation. This is you

•    BSc or MSc in Business, IT or Economics 
•    Around 10 years’ work experience of which 5 years in a similar role within a big international company.
•    Fluent in English and Dutch. Other European languages will be a plus
•    Commercial and negotiation expertise
•    Analytical and communication skills
•    People and project leadership
