Logistic Service Coordinator

(Full time, 38 hours a week)

In this role you will work in our Supply Chain Inbound department. They are responsible for an optimal efficient and cost-effective flow of commercial goods from supplier to DC (Distribution Centre) and consists of:  SC Import (Sea Freight), Cross dock and Hub. From our headquarters in Noord-Holland you have a key role in developing a logistics strategy for suppliers so that they can manage the growth of Action. Interested? Read on!
 

Your daily tasks


The Logistic Service Coordinator and the Operations Manager are responsible for managing service providers so they can execute daily operations without disruptions. In practice this means working with the Supply Chain Planning domain determining short and midterm needs on capacity and, together with the Operations Manager, manage this towards our LSP’s. Focus on process improvements, pro-actively mitigation of potential issues and bottlenecks that show on the horizon. The main areas your will be working and supporting on are; 

Contract and Relation Management

  • Together with the Operations Manager, monitors and drives the LSP to deliver efficient warehousing, and LSP/TSP to deliver transport operations - delivering on time to Action Warehouses as agreed upon in the SLA. 
  • Ensures that Action is fulfilling its part of the contract to support the execution of the LSP. 
  • Manages a solid communication structure with LSP/TSP and Action HQ
  • Efficient escalation of issues to Central Inbound organization and effective follow up on mitigation

  • Challenge both Action and LSP on agreed processes and KPIs
  • Analyzing quantitative and qualitative information on an operational level and applying professional judgment to resolve a variety of supply chain challenges.
  • Understanding of applied technical solutions (ERP/EDI/TMS) and how they can support the business

Operational Management

  • Maintains good relationships with external agencies and suppliers 
  • Ensures timely and effective communication to all stakeholders 
  • Firefighting on small and big disruptions

Our operations are outsourced to a Logistics Service Provide. The Service Coordinator monitors and steers on agreed service levels, taking in consideration Action volatile behaviour and growth. This means, that processes continuously need to be monitored on today’s performance but also be matured so they are ready for future growth. 
To be successful all stakeholders in the flow need to be managed, this effectively means you manage internal organisation with stakeholders in the commerce, supply chain planning, transport, process, and project domains as well work with external stakeholders, like LSPs, who manage our operational aspects.

Your team


In this position, your primary collaboration will be with your colleagues in the department, but you will also engage with other departments such as Supply Chain Planning, Tactical Planning, Commerce, and Logistics. As this is a fairly new discipline, some of the monitoring tools still have to be developed and or optimized in close cooperation with different stakeholders within the company. In this respect, the Logistic Service Coordinator also needs to work intensively with the Analytics team.

Stakeholder management is one of your strengths. Clear communication and the ability to persuade others enables you to work well with people and achieve your goals. You strive to contribute and create a structure in which you work efficiently and effectively. You have good organisational skills and work well with deadlines.  

You also have the following:

  • Higher education level (HBO) in Supply Chain, Logistics or similar.
  • At least 5 years' relevant work experience within a Supply Chain/Logistics/Retail company.  
  • A good command of English, as this is the working language of our international environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software, especially Excel. Experience with ERP systems and an understanding of a WMS/TMS system is also important.
  • Understand how to manage on data insights, as well as how to create these
  • In-depth knowledge of the international logistics world. How a warehouse is organised, transport is arranged and terms such as cross-docking and CFS hold no secrets for you. 
  • A willingness to travel to different work locations a few times per year.
  • Experience in managing a 3PL (nice to have)
  • Know how to work in a project driven organization
