Business Analyst – Checkout & Payment (HQ Zwaagdijk)
Are you ready to shape the future of retail operations across Europe using data-driven insights? As a Business Analyst with a strong data analytics focus in our Checkout & Payment team, you’ll play a key role in designing and improving the checkout experience for millions of customers. Based at our international headquarters in Zwaagdijk, you’ll work on intuitive, efficient, and secure payment processes that support both existing and new markets.
You’ll leverage data to uncover trends, optimize performance, and translate insights into impactful business decisions.
What will you do?
- Collect, analyze, and interpret large datasets to identify patterns, issues, and opportunities.
- Translate business needs into clear, data-supported functional specifications.
- Develop dashboards and reports to monitor KPIs and support decision-making.
- Conduct feasibility studies and contribute to business case development using quantitative analysis.
- Document “as-is” and “to-be” processes and support change management initiatives.
- Define testing scripts and verification criteria based on data insights.
- Collaborate with developers and data engineers to ensure data quality and accessibility.
This is what your day could look like
You start your day by reviewing feedback from store teams on the latest checkout updates. After a quick stand-up with your team, you dive into refining process documentation and preparing for a workshop with stakeholders. In the afternoon, you analyze data from recent pilots and collaborate with developers to ensure the new payment flow meets all requirements. You wrap up by building a report to visualize customer drop-off rates and prepare to present it to senior stakeholders.

Who are you?
You’re an analytical thinker who enjoys working with data to improve processes and customer experiences. You thrive in a collaborative environment and know how to turn complex datasets into actionable business insights.
- University degree (Bachelor’s or higher), preferably in Business, Data Science, Economics, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in a business analyst, data analyst, or similar role.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis, visualization, and reporting.
- Strong understanding of the retail sector
- Proficiency in tools like Excel, SQL, Power BI, or Python is a plus.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Proactive, curious, and eager to learn.

Meet your team
You’ll be part of the Checkout & Payment team within the Store Process Improvement department. The team is responsible for designing and optimizing checkout and cash handling processes across all Action stores internationally.
