Your daily actions
As a Facility Coordinator, you will ensure that all Distribution Centres (DCs) in the Netherlands and Germany are fully equipped with essential resources, including furniture, racking, waste and energy management, and maintenance services. You’ll be the go-to person for resolving facility-related issues and answering questions across DC's in Germany & The Netherlands. Staying up to date with industry trends and developments, you will share knowledge and translate data into actionable insights for management. You will also be involved in setting up and managing sustainable projects.
Your Responsibilities
- Ensure flawless execution of facility and maintenance processes in DCs.
- Act as the first point of contact for escalations on facility matters.
- Manage operational and tactical supplier contracts and maintain close contact with Facility Service Providers.
- Oversee the setup of new DC and implement local contract management processes.
- Ensure compliance with regulations by preparing reports for authorities and monitoring ICPE documentation.
- Monitor KPIs (OPEX/CAPEX), asset registration, and the quality of maintenance across sites.
- Take the lead in both local and IHQ-driven facility projects. Be a representative of the IHQ Facility Group
Reporting directly to the Facility Housing Manager, you will provide valuable insights into customer demands and ensure that facility services meet high standards to support the primary process.
Your team
The Group Facility and Equipment department at Action manages and controls facility support activities across our DCs, hubs, and equipment support. Strategic management is handled at IHQ, aligning facility and equipment strategies with corporate goals, while tactical management is organized regionally. We ensure the high-quality performance of local facility suppliers, assist with facility support, and ensure compliance with local rules and regulations. Operational services are primarily outsourced to facility service providers.
This is you
You have experience in facility management or retail and are able to work independently while standing your ground. You also have:
- A Bachelor's degree in Facility Management, Real Estate Management, or a related field
- 5-7 years of relevant experience, preferably in retail/logistics
- Fluency in German and English (business level)
- Strong knowledge of facility contracts, management regulations, supplier management, real estate, and security
- Pragmatic, solution-oriented, and organized with the ability to manage projects and meet deadlines
- A team player with strong communication and motivational skills
- Cost-conscious, detail-oriented, and able to react quickly to changing needs
- Experience managing remote teams across multiple DCs
- Excellent problem-solving, prioritization, and stress management skills
