Treasury & Insurance Controller
As our new Treasury & Insurance Controller, you will play a pivotal role in transforming raw financial data into actionable insights that guide strategic decisions within Action. Acting as the right hand of the Head of Treasury & Insurance, you help build the foundation for a fully data driven department. In this key role, you work on innovation, automation, and governance — ensuring high quality reporting, strong controls, and a scalable structure to support our fast growing organization.
This is your daily Action
In this role, you combine strategic thinking with hands on execution. You:
- Ensure data completeness, accuracy and consistency across all Treasury & Insurance domains (cash, FX, debt, derivatives, fees, insurance premiums, losses & recoveries) through embedded controls and intelligent reconciliations.
- Perform and continuously improve reconciliations as operational quality checks that enable automation rather than manual accounting.
- Provide validated, well documented inputs to Accounting, Business Control and Executive Management for close cycles, budgeting and periodic reporting.
- Shift control activities upstream by improving data flows, system integrations, and validations, becoming the pivot between business needs and IT data models.
- Build toward an exception based workflow, automating standard reporting and designing an integrated Reporting Cockpit that combines policies, dashboards and market data.
- Support risk exposure management by identifying insurable risks, centralizing data and contributing to redesigned insurance programs.
- Lead reporting around all treasury and insurance related costs, including interest expenses.
- Ensure team continuity by taking over core tasks when colleagues are out of office, gaining a broad understanding of Treasury & Insurance operations.
Meet your team
You will join a small but highly driven team consisting of:
- Treasury Operations: 2 FTE
- Insurance Operations: 1 FTE
- Head of Treasury & Insurance
- You — the Treasury & Insurance Controller
We work closely together in a high performing environment where accuracy, curiosity and ownership are key — and where having fun at work is equally important.
This is you
You bring energy, ownership and a strong drive to build. You may not tick every box yet, but you are eager to learn and grow into a true Treasury & Insurance expert.
You also bring:
- A background in controlling, preferably Treasury or Insurance.
- Solid understanding of cashflow reporting and internal controls.
- A mindset where controls enable quality, trust, and automation — not bureaucracy.
- A “professionally lazy” approach: you automate manual tasks and design smart workflows.
- At least 8–10 years of experience in a challenging, high growth environment (for example Big 4 experience or business control in retail).
- A proactive, independent attitude, feeling comfortable taking the lead in projects while representing T&I interests.
- You thrive in a dynamic setting and enjoy stepping outside your comfort zone with the support of the Head of Treasury & Insurance.
What we offer
- A dynamic and entrepreneurial environment where innovation and automation are key.
- The opportunity to build new capabilities and shape the future Treasury & Insurance landscape.
- A role with significant visibility within senior management.
- Room for personal development, learning and growth in a fast expanding international organization.
How we contribute to society
Treasury & Insurance plays a central role in safeguarding Action’s financial health and supporting sustainable growth. By strengthening our data, controls and risk management processes, you contribute to building a robust, resilient and future proof organization.
