A (junior) Buyer at Action is looking for the best items at optimal purchasing conditions on a daily basis. Thanks to your sharp insights & customer focus, you know how to create an attractive assortment in our stores.

As a (junior) Buyer, your goal is to support the Senior Buyer during the buying process and to implement the category strategy within the category, leading to increasing sales results, profit and market share.
 

This is your daily action

As a (junior) Buyer, you are part of the Buying department and you work closely with the Senior Buyer and Buying assistants. The work is aimed at guiding the purchase from A to Z.

As a (junior) Buyer, you bear a great responsibility in the composition of the assortment (Category strategy). With the Senior Buyer, you discuss what the best route and strategy is to serve the customer. Because you are constantly looking for new items and know where the demand lies, your influence is great on what will ultimately be in the stores. 

You are looking for new products every day at optimal purchasing conditions (continuity, price, quantity, quality). You do this of course in collaboration with various international suppliers & producers. 

Furthermore, you prepare negotiations with (potential) suppliers (Relationship management) and, together with the stock planning department, ensure that your items are always in stock (Supply Chain) in our distribution centers. Part of the assortment is purchased directly from the source. You are closely involved in this process and guide it from A to Z. In addition, you keep a close eye on the market (Market research and product development), so you ensure that Action can continue to guarantee the lowest price in the countries in which we are currently active. You also identify opportunities to respond adequately to commercial opportunities, for example the delivery of related articles in the event of a changing weather forecast.

This is you

A Buyer at Action is commercial, cost-conscious and feels at home in an dynamic, international environment. You have a great sense of responsibility and you like to work in a team. In addition, you are assertive and analytically strong, you work a lot with data that needs to be analyzed and is also shared within the organization. Communication is also one of your strengths, you can easily translate sales data into (new) products. 
Moreover, you have experience in Retail or at a supplier (sales). The ideal candidate has entrepreneurship in his blood and has already gained some commercial experience.
In addition, you have: 

• A completed HBO degree preferably in an economic/commercial field.
• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience as a Buyer or Junior Buyer  
• Excellent command of English and Dutch (both written and spoken)
• Knowledge of systems such as Excel and SAP would be advantageous
