Learning Specialist (L&D)
Location: Zwaagdijk (Noord Holland)
Contract: Full time (32–38 hours per week)
Are you looking for a varied role where you can make a real impact on the development of thousands of employees across Europe? As a Learning Specialist within our Supply Chain organisation, you will develop learning solutions for our European distribution centres. You will be based at our head office in Zwaagdijk (Noord-Holland).
At Action, we’re growing rapidly. Every year, we open new stores and distribution centres in both existing and new countries. This calls for effective, practical and scalable learning solutions. Within Action, we have our own dedicated learning team for Supply Chain, which works closely with the central L&D department (HR).
This is your daily action
As a Learning Specialist, you will support supply chain employees in their development: from ensuring a smooth start during the induction period to learning new tasks or progressing to the next role. You will design and develop learning solutions that really work in practice, such as e-learning modules, short instructional videos, interactive 360-degree photos and other digital learning formats. In addition, you will ensure robust performance support solutions in our distribution centres.
You will be the subject matter expert and sparring partner within our Supply Chain in the field of learning and development. Drawing on your knowledge and experience, you will advise the business on learning strategies and methods suited to a fast-growing, international environment. You will justify decisions, weigh up alternatives and contribute ideas for sustainable and scalable learning solutions. In doing so, you will move comfortably between the operational level, where you develop and implement initiatives yourself, and the tactical level, where you provide direction, drive improvements and look ahead.
What does that look like in practice?
As a Learning Specialist within Supply Chain, you are responsible for learning projects from A to Z.
You will:
- Analyse operational tasks and performance needs in our distribution centres
- Translate these needs into clear learning objectives and curricula
- Design and develop learning solutions yourself, such as:
- E learning modules
- Short instructional videos
- Visual work instructions and job aids
- Performance support tools for the shop floor
- Pilot and implement learning solutions in practice, together with operations and DC setup teams
- Improve and standardise work instructions and training materials across all warehouses
- Act as a sparring partner for stakeholders such as DC trainers, process experts and mid management
- Contribute to one global learning approach for all European distribution centres
You move comfortably between hands on development and advisory work, always with a strong focus on practical impact.

You enjoy improving learning and performance in an operational environment. You take ownership, work in a structured way and are comfortable challenging stakeholders when needed. You combine learning theory with hands on execution.
In addition:
- A bachelor’s degree, for example in educational science, instructional design, learning and development or a similar field
- At least 5 years’ relevant work experience in learning & development, instructional design and/or online learning
- Strong hands on content development skills (e learning, video, visual materials)
- Experience with Articulate 360 and a Learning Management System
