We are looking for an IT Program Manager with strong experience in the Store Operations domain. Someone who has mastered the skill of keeping tactical overview, driving stakeholder value combining this with a keen understanding of details. Someone who has a pragmatic, hands-on attitude and enjoys to lead change in an challenging environment that offers many opportunities for further improvement.

With over 2500+ stores in Europe, Store Operations plays a key role in Action’s success today and in being scaled and ready for tomorrow. To achieve these goals, Programs and also smaller projects are continuously started, relying heavily on successful delivery of Technology capabilities.

Our IT department adds value with dedicated horizontal / functional teams for Business domains (eg Store Operations), a Development & Operations team to manage shared Technology services, a team for Data Analytics & Business Insights. Furthermore, supportive teams for Projects & Portfolio  management, Architecture and Security. Over 500 people work daily in and for Technology, the larger part on change. Keeping up with the challenges and expansion objectives at Action requires the best talent.

This is you


As an IT Program Manager you are analytically strong, creative and you have senior project management skills. You have a service-oriented, proactive and no-nonsense attitude and you are able to communicate and cooperate substantively at various (international) levels within the organization. You also have a clear vision and know how to implement it. A positive and proactive attitude towards change and innovation is essential in this. Our formula with a surprisingly complete assortment and competitive prices also requires an entrepreneurial, critical and pragmatic attitude with high cost awareness.

And furthermore:

  • At least 10 years of work experience as an IT Program Manager with adequate track record
  • You have knowledge of traditional (Prince 2) and Agile (Scrum) methodologies 
  • Experience in managing and delivering project portfolio’s is an advantage
  • Experience within the Store Operations / Retail industry is required
  • Excellent command of Dutch and English (written and spoken)
  • Knowledge of German and / or French language is an advantage
