IT Program Manager – Supply Chain Expansion

(Full-time/Part-time, 32-38 hours per week)

Do you want to play a key role in the management and development of everything that happens within the rapidly growing Action Supply Chain domain? If that sounds like you, you could be the IT Program Manager – Supply Chain we're looking for!

Action is a fast-growing, non-food discounter with more than 3,000 stores in 13 countries, including Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France, Luxembourg, Austria, Poland, Czechia and Italy. With 15 distribution centres in 13 different countries, Action Technology plays an important role in the continuous expansion of our distribution network. In order to continue to grow and improve, we are continuously launching programs and smaller projects, such as opening additional distribution centres, life-cycle projects (project-based renewal of hardware and software) and implementing other logistics tools to support our rapidly growing supply chain.

Are you ready to join our team? Will you be enabling our organisation to continue to grow quickly across borders and to further optimise our growth?

Your daily tasks

As an IT Program Manager, you will be responsible for leading Technology in implementing new distribution centres to be opened for Supply Chain. You will work for Technology and collaborate closely with Supply Chain and Technology partners on a daily basis in order to set up, manage and successfully deliver your projects according to best practices from the Action Project management framework. You will report to the Steering Committee on projects. Action's dynamic nature means it is crucial for you to manage risks and use opportunities proactively, so the agreed objectives can be achieved according to plan.  You will work closely with colleagues who manage the construction of distribution centres as well as with the technical contractor(s) and IT colleagues.

You will be part of our IT Projects & Portfolio team. Curious about your new manager? Nannet Boonstra can’t wait to work with you!

How we contribute to society

If you only know Action from our stores, a new world will open up for you when you join us. Behind the scenes, we work hard to make a positive contribution to society and the environment. Did you know, for example, that we sponsor more than 2,000 children worldwide who are growing up in an SOS Children's Village? Or that our team reflects the diversity of our customers with 124 nationalities? Or that 70% of our wood products and 86% of our cotton now comes from sustainable sources? Or that more than half of our stores only use energy-efficient LED lighting? Yes, that's Action, too. If you're curious to find out what other actions we make possible, join our team and see it all for yourself.

Meet your team

Our IT department provides added value through specialised horizontal/cross-functional teams for Business Domains (such as Commerce & Marketing), a Development & Operations team to manage shared technology services and a Data Analytics & Business Insights team. We also have support teams for Projects & Portfolio Management, Architecture and Security. More than 500 people work in and for Technology every day; many on implementing change. To meet our challenges and expansion goals, we work with the most talented people at Action.

If you want to work on challenging projects in the dynamic world of retail using advanced technology, it's time to take action!
