Ready for Action – Network Solution Architect

As a Network Solution Architect at Action in Zwaagdijk-Oost, you work on the technological backbone of one of the fastest growing retailers in Europe. You ensure that our stores, offices, and data centers remain secure, connected, and future proof. In this role, you combine strategic thinking with innovative network solutions and directly contribute to the reliability and scalability of our international organization.

This is your daily action

• Translating functional requests from the organization into technical network solutions
• Designing future proof network solutions for LAN/WAN, WLAN, SD WAN, VPN, Firewall, and Cloud environments
• Developing the full lifecycle of network solutions, from design to implementation and renewal
• Working closely with Domain & Solution Architects, project teams, and external vendors
• Ensuring compliance with security, privacy, and IT governance standards
• Identifying technological developments and implementing improvements based on innovation, standardization, automation, and secure by design principles
• Identifying risks within the network and implementing mitigating strategies

Key responsibilities:

Your day starts with a meeting with the network team where, for example, you discuss new network requirements for an international store expansion. Afterwards, you work on a design for a network solution that will make our stores operate even more reliably. Later in the day, you support the Service Delivery Manager during discussions with suppliers about migration plans, and you act as a sparring partner for colleagues within Technology. You maintain oversight, ensure quality, and help our network environment grow in line with Action’s ambitions.

Your team

You will join the Technology team: an international and highly skilled group of professionals who are collectively responsible for Action’s complete digital infrastructure. You will work closely with fellow architects, engineers, and project managers. More than 700 colleagues within Technology work daily on innovation, growth, and stability. The atmosphere is open, collaborative, and focused on delivering reliable solutions for our stores and offices.

What you offer

You are an analytical and solution oriented professional who can clearly explain complex technical issues. You enjoy working in an international environment and find it important to achieve results together.

• Several years of experience as a Network Solution Architect
• Higher professional education (HBO) work and thinking level
• In depth knowledge and experience with LAN/WAN, WLAN, SD WAN, VPN, and firewalls
• Expertise in network architecture, Cloud networking, and security
• Experience with complex projects and vendor management
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Excellent command of both English and Dutch (written and verbal)
• Certifications such as Cisco CCNP/CCIE, Fortinet NSE, or TOGAF are a plus
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and ITIL processes
