Privacy Risk Specialist

(Part-time – Full-time 32 or 38h/wk)
Can you give our management valuable insights into how we can control our privacy risks? Do you have a specific interest in privacy and are you an organised and pragmatic professional with a hands-on mentality? If so, join our Risk Assurance team!

Your daily tasks

Your daily tasks focus on data protection and privacy compliance.  Core activities include conducting risk analyses based on privacy assessments and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements. You will develop, implement, and maintain privacy policies and procedures, setting strategic standards and clear guidelines that enable management to meet compliance objectives. In addition, you will monitor and manage privacy-related risks on an ongoing basis.

As a trusted advisor, you will support the business teams in handling privacy incidents, conducting Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), and evaluating new initiatives that may affect personal data. You will provide expert guidance on data protection questions and share best practices across the organization.

You also use your expertise and experience to support your immediate Risk Assurance colleagues in their daily activities. In addition, you work closely with all our business teams, both at our international headquarters and in the individual countries.

Your team

As a Privacy Risk Specialist, you work closely with the Senior Privacy Risk Manager and report to the Head of Risk Assurance. You also engage frequently with your privacy colleagues at the HR and Marketing departments and privacy coordinators throughout the company.

Together with the Internal Audit team, the Risk Management team is part of Risk Assurance.
Risk Assurance supports the Action business teams by identifying risks and defining and implementing measures to mitigate these risks. Our activities span the entire value chain in all countries in which we operate, from sourcing our products to the sales in our stores. The professionals in our Risk Management and Internal Audit teams have all the key knowledge and skills we need to help the Action business teams achieve their ambitions.

What we offer

Surprisingly much! From our international headquarters in the Netherlands you have an impact on what happens in our stores across Europe. We welcome more than 15 million customers every week in more than 3,000 stores in 14 European countries. We have great growth ambitions. For Action and for you. Because our growth means that you can always take new steps. A different position, an interesting innovation project, new skills: you can continue to develop as a professional. And all this in a culture where our shared values are truly lived: customer focus, teamwork, simplicity, discipline, cost conscious and respect.

Did you know that you can also count on us for:

  • 24 days of holiday with the option to buy five additional days (based on 38 hours per week)
  • Flexible working hours and the option to work up to 40% of your hours from home (in coordination with your team and manager)
  • A 15% staff discount on your Action purchases
  • A good pension scheme, group health insurance, travel allowance and home working allowance. It only takes 30 minutes to travel from Amsterdam to Zwaagdijk-Oost by car when the roads are clear.

How we contribute to the society

If you only know Action from the stores, a world will open up for you when you come and work with us. We work hard to make a positive impact on society and the environment. Did you know, for example, that we sponsor more than 2,500 children worldwide who grow up in an SOS Children's Village? That our team reflects the diversity of our customers, including 155 different nationalities? That we purchase 94% of our wood products and 100% of our cotton sustainably? And that almost all our stores only use energy-efficient LED lighting? Yes, that is also Action. Curious about what other initiatives we’re facilitating? Join our team and find out for yourself.
