As a Product Owner Telephony at Action in Zwaagdijk-Oost, you are responsible for the entire telephony and telecom environment across our stores, offices, call centers, and distribution centers. You ensure that our communication solutions are scalable, reliable, and future-proof. With your vision, leadership, and supplier management, you play a key role in modernizing our international telecom infrastructure.
What will you do?
- Develop and communicate the product vision for telephony within Action.
- Oversee all telecom-related projects.
- Prepare and execute the transition from VOIP telephony to mobile communication in distribution centers.
- Research future store telephony solutions and mobile alternatives.
- Manage contracts: negotiate new international telecom agreements and evaluate, steer, and challenge suppliers.
- Safeguard the quality of telecom services across stores, call centers, DCs, and headquarters.
- Oversee telecom providers on quality, costs, and capabilities.
A day in your role
You begin your day by reviewing ongoing telecom projects. You investigate new technological possibilities for store telephony or optimize mobile coverage at existing locations. Later, you meet with suppliers to evaluate performance or prepare new contracts. Throughout the day, you coordinate with internal stakeholders such as Procurement and Office Automation, and supervise the aftercare of new telecom solutions.

You will join Action’s Technology domain, where approximately 700 colleagues work on scalable and future-oriented IT solutions. You are part of the Office Automation department, which includes the Workplace, Network, and Telephony teams. Together with the application analyst, you form the Telephony team. Who are you?
You are a communicatively strong and pragmatic professional who enjoys organizing, improving, and managing telecom services. You understand the traditional and modern telecom landscape and know how to assess and direct suppliers.
You bring:
- HBO-level education and thinking
- Experience with telephony processes, telecom services, and call center solutions
- Experience with contract management
- Strong communication skills
- Understanding of traditional and modern telecom solutions
- Proficiency in Dutch and English
- Preferred: retail or telco experience, knowledge of mobile networks, international contract management experience
