Technical Specialist Workplace & Office 365

We are a fast-growing, non-food discounter with over 3,000 stores in 15 different countries, our Technology department plays an important role in the continuous expansion of our distribution network. 

The Role

As a Technical Specialist Workplace & Office 365, you are responsible for the daily operation, stability, and further development of our Microsoft Workplace environment. You ensure that employees can work optimally with Office 365 and related Microsoft services.

You understand how Office 365 licensing works, how Intune is set up, and how applications are rolled out and integrated in a controlled manner. You closely follow new developments, such as Microsoft Copilot, and assess how these can be deployed securely and effectively within Action.

You are not continuously “hands-on” yourself: execution largely lies with managed service providers. You monitor quality, make adjustments where necessary, and ensure that agreements are met. In addition, you keep a close eye on SLAs and make sure the day to day operation runs smoothly.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

• Managing and optimizing the Office 365 & Workplace environment.
• Monitoring and advising on correct license allocation and usage.
• Coordinating Intune configurations and device management.
• Monitoring SLAs and supplier performance.
• Translating questions from Action business teams, together with suppliers, into concrete technical solutions.
• Driving adoption within Action of new Microsoft functionalities and/or products.
• Aligning with suppliers on changes, incidents, and improvements.
• Contributing to smaller projects based on existing designs.
• Identifying new Microsoft developments and translating them into practical applications.

This is your team

You will be part of the Workplace domain within Technology. The team consists of various colleagues: colleagues focused on changes, a Service Delivery Manager responsible for the service portfolio, a Product Owner who coordinates between business and IT, and you as the Technical Specialist responsible for a stable and well functioning Workplace & Office 365 environment.

You communicate clearly with suppliers and colleagues and are able to maintain an overview in a dynamic environment where many things happen simultaneously.

Required skills & experience

• Knowledge of Office 365 and Microsoft Workplace solutions.
• Understanding of Microsoft licensing models.
• Affinity with Intune and device management.
• Interest in new developments such as Copilot.
• Experience working with external suppliers.
• Understanding of IT processes and SLAs.
• Good command of Dutch and English.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience as a functional application manager, workplace administrator, or a similar role.
• Experience in an enterprise or retail environment.
• Relevant certifications are a plus (ITIL, Microsoft, AWS, etc.).
