Application Analyst Business Insights & Data Analytics – SAP Azure - Databricks

At Action, analytics is embedded in all business processes. From Store Operations and Supply Chain to Finance, HR, and Buying & Merchandising. Our BI & Data Analytics platforms, spanning both SAP and Azure ecosystems, play a key role in enabling data-driven decision-making. As an Application Analyst within the BI & Data Analytics team (located at our Headquarters in Zwaagdijk-Oost), you contribute directly to the stability, quality and evolution of these platforms and help shape the future of analytics at Action.

Your daily tasks

You are responsible for the functional and technical support of analytics platforms used by data analysts, data scientists, and business users. Depending on your background, this may involve SAP-based analytics solutions (such as BW, BO, SAC or Datasphere), Azure-based data platforms (Data Factory, Databricks) or a combination of both.

You support incident resolution, participate in maintenance and improvement initiatives, and help ensure the continuity, reliability, and data quality of analytics solutions. You proactively identify improvement opportunities, both functional and technical, and translate these into concrete actions or backlog items.

You are involved in the implementation of new solutions and enhancements, working closely with internal stakeholders, business partners, and onshore/offshore development teams. Your work may relate to data models, data pipelines, semantic layers, dashboards, reports, or data products, depending on the platform and domain.

You will join the BI & Data Analytics team within Action Technology. As a team, we realize the analytics initiatives that are on our internal customers' technology roadmaps. In so doing, we have a direct impact on the business objectives of Action as a whole.

What you bring

You have strong analytical and organizational skills and are comfortable operating at the intersection of business requirements and analytics technology. You communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and take ownership of the solutions within your scope.

You are proactive, pragmatic, and quality-driven, and you enjoy working in an environment where SAP and Azure technologies coexist and increasingly converge.

You also have:

• A vocational or university degree, preferably in information technology, data, or business computer science
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in a BI, analytics, or data platform domain

Experience in one or more of the following areas:

• SAP BW, SAP BusinessObjects, SAP Analytics Cloud, SAP Datasphere
• Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks
• Experience working with outsourced development and/or support teams is a plus
• A good command of Dutch and English

Experience in both SAP Analytics and Azure-based data platforms is a strong advantage, but not a requirement.
