Hi! Please introduce yourself!

My name is Tobias, and I have been working at Action since 2019. First as a Social Media Specialist and now in a broader marketing role. I live in Bussum with my girlfriend and daughter and our dog. An hour's drive to the office, but worth it!

What is it you do as a Digital Specialist?

I track data from our digital marketing channels and measure our performance. I also contribute to our goals, budgets and strategies. My working days are always different. I kick off every morning with our performance team, which includes specialists from all our channels. Together with external marketing agencies, we’re exploring how we can make better use of these channels. With our Content team, I look at how we can raise awareness of our products even more. Our biggest channels are Facebook and Instagram. We also do a lot with TikTok. Especially in Poland, this platform is a success: our videos go viral almost every week!

Why did you join Action?

I wanted to pay more attention to my work-life balance. During my application interview, I indicated to my team lead that transparency and honesty are important to me. There seemed to be a lot of room for that. And that room has paid off in two ways: I work well together with the team leader and I can always turn to her.

What surprised you most about working at Action?

The culture! Everyone is relaxed, knows each other’s specialism and consults a lot. Because of our growth, we have an awful lot to do. We work hard, but we also know that tomorrow is another day. I think it's great to see such a big company investing so much in its employees – with a competitive salary, but also with growth opportunities. For example, do I want to pick up new tasks? If so, people will think this through with you.

What's the best part of your job? And what can be challenging?

The freedom to engage with our data and look beyond social media. Here I can make great strides in my development. I also like the variety of work. We do digital marketing for eleven countries in Europe. In each country, customers respond differently to our content and there are different trends or customs at play. This requires an international way of thinking and collaboration with our country managers. 

What achievements are you proud of?

The huge growth! Our digital team started with twenty people. Today, over seventy colleagues are working on our success. Lots of people have been working here for a long time. That's very cool. Also super special: the openings of our shops in eastern and southern Europe. It’s great to be involved in this.

What's the atmosphere like?

Very open and pleasant: everyone is up for a chat. And if you’re not happy with a certain part of your work, there’s a quick solution.

Any tips for future colleagues?

With our wide variety of products and countries we operate in, you won't get bored easily here. There are plenty of great projects to tackle!
