Buying Assistant Household

Fulltime, 38 hours per week

Are you commercially minded and looking for a job where you can make an impact? If so, join our Buying team as a Buying Assistant Household and get involved in one of our categories to have a direct impact on our product range!

This is your daily Action

Our buyers are responsible for finding the best products for our stores. Our stores have 14 categories, ranging from clothes to office supplies and cleaning products to DIY. As a Buying Assistant, you will enjoy a lot of freedom and responsibility to build the product range in your category. You will do this by supporting the buyers in the purchasing process from start to finish. This includes looking at upcoming trends, making agreements with suppliers about product specifications, seeking agreements with Supply Chain about deliveries, and sparring with Marketing and Promo to get your products in the spotlight. You will also take on administrative tasks. In this dynamic role, you will have an overview and

will have plenty of scope to cooperate within the Buying team. As a true all-rounder, you will ensure procurement processes run smoothly and administration is up to date, and gain commercial insights. To maintain high quality, you will organise and visit stores, check samples received, and maintain contact with our national and international suppliers.

Did you know, for example, that we sponsor more than 2,000 children worldwide who are growing up in an SOS Children’s Village? That our team reflects the diversity of our customers, including 124 nationalities? That we already source 70% of our wood products and 86% of our cotton sustainably? And that only energy-efficient LED lighting is used in more than half of our stores? Yes, that is also Action. Curious about what other initiatives we’re facilitating?
