Construction Operations Manager – International HQ (Zwaagdijk)


Are you passionate about driving quality and consistency in international construction projects? At Action’s International Headquarters in Zwaagdijk, we’re looking for a Construction Operations Manager to help shape the future of our store design and construction standards across Europe. You’ll oversee high-impact projects, collaborate closely with local teams and stakeholders, and play a key role in maintaining the quality and efficiency of our store builds. What will you do?

  • Oversee cross-country construction operations to ensure alignment with timelines, budgets, and company standards
  • Lead the store design team and construction operations analyst(s), guiding day-to-day execution and development
  • Monitor construction quality through desktop checks and performance analysis, addressing irregularities proactively
  • Coordinate with country and IHQ departments on construction-related topics
  • Analyse data and create performance reports to improve processes and drive change
     

This is what your day could look like


You start your day reviewing the latest performance reports from several ongoing projects across Europe. After catching up with your team to align on priorities, you join an international construction call where you share insights and policy updates. In the afternoon, you lead a discussion with the Format team on optimising our store design guidelines, followed by a session with Risk Management on construction compliance. No two days are the same—but they all move us forward.

Who are you?


You’re a strategic leader with a strong operational mindset and a passion for construction excellence. You know how to motivate others, streamline processes, and spot opportunities for improvement. You're as comfortable leading a team as you are engaging with stakeholders from across the business.

  • Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years of relevant experience in construction
  • Proven leadership and people management skills
  • Excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing (English required; additional European languages are a plus)
  • Strong skills in performance analysis and construction quality assurance
  • Strong skills with tools such as Planon and MS Office; especially Powerpoint and Excel
  • Practical, results-driven, and deadline-focused
  • A natural collaborator who empowers teams and fosters cross-functional alignment

Meet your team


You’ll be joining the International Construction team at our IHQ in Zwaagdijk. The team is diverse, motivated, and deeply committed to maintaining high construction and design standards across all countries where Action operates. You’ll work closely with our Store Design team, Construction Operations Analysts, and stakeholders across departments like Store Operations and Risk Management. You’ll operate cross countries and have a lot of interaction with the Real Estate departments in other countries. It’s a professional and collaborative environment, where your expertise and ideas will be valued from day one.
