Project Coordinator Finance – Action

Part-time/Full-time, 32 – 38 hours per week

Action is looking for a Project Coordinator Finance within the Financial Projects & Processes team. Are you ambitious, a natural leader and do you see yourself as a future Project Manager in Europe's largest retailer? If so, keep reading!

Financial Projects & Processes aims to ensure that Action's financial processes run smoothly, so the organization can continue to grow and thrive. It is crucial that the full potential of Action’s financial resources is optimally utilized. We make sure that the systems supporting our financial processes are reliable and efficient. It’s also essential to implement any changes to these systems seamlessly. This department is therefore key: Financial Projects & Processes ensures that Action remains a stable organization in the midst of our rapid growth.

This is your daily action

As Project Coordinator Finance, you will be responsible for creating the annual plan for all changes within Finance, in consultation with managers from various departments and the Manager of Financial Projects & Processes. Throughout the year, you’ll keep this plan updated and adjust when needed by management. You will ensure that the plan aligns well with the Technology plans and the budgets set by Business Control. You will also provide advice on how different projects influence each other and ensure that everything remains feasible. By regularly reviewing the resources needed for projects (through a resource plan), you will collaborate with the relevant managers to quickly resolve any issues.

Additionally:

  • You will prepare periodic reports on the status, risks, and any revised targets of the change portfolio for the senior management within Finance.
  • You will ensure the standardization of project and program management within Finance and guarantee that it complies with Action’s standards for portfolio management. You’ll also ensure these standards are followed.
  • You will align the standards within Finance with those of Technology.
  • You will coordinate the delivery of the required standard documentation from Finance to Technology, ensuring it meets the necessary requirements.
  • You will support managers of key individual projects and programs.

Meet your team

The Financial Projects and Processes team consists of over 20 enthusiastic and driven team members, some with an international background, and is part of Financial Services. Financial Services handles the complete administration of our international organization and employs around 100 diverse specialists. Do you want to work in the dynamic environment of Europe’s fastest-growing retailer, with plenty of opportunities for international growth? Then go for Action!

This is you

As a Project Coordinator Finance, you are self-assured, structured in your work, and possess excellent communication skills. In addition, you have strong organizational abilities, a good capacity for collaboration, and solid problem-solving skills.

In addition:

  • A bachelor’s degree or HBO working and thinking level.
  • At least 2 to 3 years of work experience in coordinating and supporting financial or operational projects.
  • Knowledge of financial processes, budgeting, and reporting.
  • Experience working within a financial department is a plus.
  • Excellent command of the English language, both spoken and written (proficiency in Dutch is a strong advantage).
  • Availability of at least 32 hours.

What we offer

Surprisingly much! From our vibrant headquarters in the Netherlands, you have an impact across Europe. We currently have over 2,500 stores in 11 countries and millions of smiles from our customers. We have ambitious growth plans, both for Action and for you. Our growth means you can continuously take new steps. Another role, an interesting innovation project, new skills: you can develop without limits as a professional. All of this is within a culture where our shared values are genuinely lived: customer focus, teamwork, simplicity, discipline, cost awareness, and respect.

Did you know that you can also count on us for:

  • A market-based salary based on a 38-hour work week.
  • 24 days of holiday and the option to buy 5 extra days (based on 38 hours per week)
  • Flexible working hours and the option to work up to 40% from home, of course in coordination with your team and manager.
  • 15% staff discount on your purchases at Action.
  • A good pension plan, collective health insurance, and travel expense reimbursement (Zwaagdijk-Oost is traffic jam-free and only 30 minutes by car from Amsterdam, plus Action offers a shuttle bus service from Hoorn station).

How we contribute to society

If you know Action only from the stores, a whole new world opens up when you work with us. Behind the scenes, we are hard at work to make a positive impact on society and the environment. Did you know that we sponsor over 2,000 children growing up in an SOS Children’s Village worldwide? That our team reflects the diversity of our customers, including 124 nationalities? That we already sustainably source 70% of our wood products and 86% of our cotton? And that in more than half of our stores, only energy-efficient LED lighting is used? Yes, that is Action too. Curious about what other initiatives we facilitate? Join our team and discover for yourself.
