Financial Services Team Lead – General Ledger Control – Zwaagdijk


Are you an experienced financial professional with a passion for structure, control and leadership? Do you want to play an important role in a fast-growing international organisation? If so, the position of Team Lead Financial Services – General Ledger Control at Action in Zwaagdijk is for you. Within our dynamic Finance department, you will manage a dedicated team and ensure reliable financial closures and reports that contribute to our European growth.
 

Your tasks


As Team Lead General Ledger Control, you will lead a team that is responsible for the monthly closures, posting corrections and accruals, checking payroll processing and reconciling balance sheet items. You will ensure the quality of internal reports and ensure the timely delivery of data for tax returns. You will also work closely with colleagues from different countries, business controllers and the tax team, and play a key role in preparing audits. You will also be involved in projects to improve and expand financial processes to new countries and ensure system adjustments, such as within SAP, are properly tested and implemented.
 

A typical working day


You start the day with a team meeting focusing on the monthly closure. You then discuss a complex booking issue with the business controllers in Germany. You work with the Technology department to test a new SAP function for the reconciliation process. After lunch, you coach a team member and end the day with an appraisal of the audit preparations.

Your profile

  • An experienced leader with an eye for detail and control and a focus on results.
  • Completed vocational training supplemented by a postgraduate registry accountant or registry controller qualification.
  • A minimum 8 years' relevant work experience in finance or accounting.
  • Experience in a managerial role, preferably in an international context.
  • In-depth knowledge of IFRS and audit processes.
  • Strong in stakeholder management at both strategic and operational level.
  • Experience with SAP ECC-FI/CO and SAP-AFC is a plus.

You will work at the heart of our international Finance organisation, in a team focusing on the core of our financial reporting. The colleagues you work with directly are experts in accounting and reporting, and collaborate closely with teams in other countries, controllers and auditors. The atmosphere in the team is open, engaged and result-orientated: together you make sure everything accurate and to the point.
